Additionally, Dammek constantly belittles Xefros and is said to be constantly testing him with code names and minutia regarding the rebellion, in an effort to toughen him up, which Xefros admits that it is. Dammek is seen to be somewhat exploiting Xefros' vulnerability as a burgundy blood within the first act. He is moirails with Dammek, and they are in a garage band together called The Grubbels (or Grubbles, depending on Dammek's mood). He is also a Flarper, and the singer in his and Dammek's garage band, The Grubbels. Xefros' favorite pastime is the Alternian sport of arena stickball. His psychic abilities seem far more powerful when he is enraged, such as when strifing with Azdaja Knelax, since after Joey had gotten knocked to the ground during the strife, Xefros stepped in, shrugged off one of his attacks, and slammed him down several times. He mostly uses his powers to bend spoons, and open the lock on his safe, but doing so exhuasts him to the point that he needs to drink a can of Grub Juice after. Xefros is shown to have psychic abilities that, while present, are much weaker than those of most other rustblood trolls. He is a passionate follower of Dammek's rebellion. He also seems to be more accepting and comfortable around the subject of cleaning supplies compared to other trolls, and keeps his hive relatively cleaner than his peers.ĭespite his weaker tendencies, Xefros shows a compassionate, trusting nature, and is willing to put himself in danger to help someone in need. He is also training to be a butler, and is not very excited at the prospect. Due to Dammek's influence and the general mistreatment of low-bloods in Alternia, Xefros does not think highly of himself or any of his abilities, and shows some anxiety over his fading childhood. Xefros is a timid, passive troll with a kind heart and low self-esteem. Joey manages to save Xefros and the two leave with both Dammek's and Xefros' lusii to meet up with Xefros' friend. He tries to help her, despite the dangerous Drone raid going on in his neighborhood, but a missile hits his home and he gets trapped under the debris, forcing Joey to save him instead. He initially believes Joey is Dammek testing him before realizing she is a lost alien who has somehow been sent to Alternia. Xefros is first seen shortly after Joey Claire is spirited away to Alternia and Dammek is similarly sent to Earth. Tritoh also sounds similar to the Germanic word "Trikot", meaning a sports jersey. His surname refers to his Sloth lusus, resembling "tri toe" to reference the Three-Toed Sloth. Xefros is possibly named after Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind. You can also translate the word "Xefros" (yes, there is a difference between "xefros" and "Xefros" in the Greek language) into the Greek word "Ξεφρος" meaning "dazzling".

That doesn’t mean it isn’t there, necessarily, since ofc I missed the Rage references before the extended zodiac pointed in that direction. I do think there’s an argument for Dammek as a Thief (Xefros explicitly refers to Dammek as ‘taking his stuff’), but none for Xefros just yet.
I don’t think I’ve seen any references to outlaws or pirates or whatnot linked to Xefros, either. Similarly, I’d say the Butler motif links Xefros (and Dammek) to roleplaying a Knight. In act 1, related to Xefros, I’ve seen a ton of references to Time (largely centered around Xefros’ exploitation by Alternia and his toxic relationship with Dammek), and a good number of references to Rage. If you have a particular reading based on lines in Hiveswap’s text, I mean…no? I don’t really buy inversion theory, and even if I did I wouldn’t agree that a Page would invert into a Thief, since I read Pages as active.
